Petr Jansa

Vice President, Head of Chemistry BridGene Biosciences Inc.

Dr. Petr Jansa is a highly experienced medicinal chemist with more than 15 years of expertise in drug discovery. His primary focus has been on oncology and anti-infective therapeutics, with additional experience in the design of GPCR ligands and metabolic enzyme inhibitors across diverse small-molecule modalities, including covalent inhibitors, nucleosides, macrocycles, and targeted degraders. Dr. Jansa has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and is an inventor on over 30 patents and patent applications. He currently leads chemistry activities at BridGene Biosciences, leveraging a unique chemoproteomics platform to unlock hard-to-drug targets or develop novel modalities for challenging biological targets. Prior to joining BridGene, Petr held several positions at Gilead Sciences. As a project team leader, he successfully advanced multiple discovery programs from early exploratory research to fully established projects. He played a key role in the discovery of five clinical candidates and served as lead chemist on three of those programs.

Dr. Jansa earned his Ph.D. in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from Charles University and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in Prague.

Proteome-Wide Live-Cell Covalent Screening Reveals Physicochemical Drivers of Promiscuous Labeling & Design Principles for Selective Covalent Libraries
9:30 am
  • Introducing the IMTAC TM proteome-wide cell-based screening platform
  • Interrogating proteome-wide screening data to characterize compound reactivity and uncover patterns that contribute to selectivity or promiscuity of covalent compounds
  • Refining covalent library design strategies to minimize promiscuity and eliminate nonproductive compounds, enabling more efficient, higher-quality hit identification
