Antony Burton
Associate Director, Chemical Biology & Proteomics Dunad Therapeutics
Antony Burton is Associate Director of Chemical Biology and Proteomics at Dunad Therapeutics, responsible for delivering key data for pre-clinical covalent programs, from hit generation to development candidate selection. Antony has 14 years of experience across biotech, the pharmaceutical industry and academia, with expertise including covalent, CNS-targeting and protein degrader modalities. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and performed post-doctoral research at Princeton University as a fellow of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. He previously worked at AstraZeneca in the Chemical Biology & Protein Sciences group, focusing on target identification and selectivity profiling for pre-clinical programs.
Seminars
- Leveraging chemoproteomic screening platforms to identify covalent hits with high selectivity, incorporating orthogonal assays and kinetic profiling (kinact/KI) to distinguish tractable opportunities from liabilities
- Accelerating optimization into brain-penetrant proof-of-concept molecules through integrated assessment of selectivity, reactivity, and exposure
- Exploiting prolonged target residence time in the brain to enhance efficacy, enabling reduced dosing strategies while minimizing safety risks through deeper understanding of protein turnover and covalent engagement
